Before you place a sign order, take a few minutes to check the details together. The material, finished size, artwork, and delivery address all need to match the same plan. This checklist is useful whether you are ordering one display or preparing signs for several locations.
1. Define where the sign will be used
Write down whether the sign will be indoors or outdoors, how long you expect to use it, and how it will be displayed. Note any exposure to rain, sunlight, or frequent handling. Compare those needs with the product description rather than choosing a material by appearance alone.
Check any venue or property requirements before ordering. A sign that fits your design still needs to fit the place where it will be installed.
2. Measure the available space
Record the finished width and height, including the units. Double-check portrait versus landscape orientation. If the sign must fit an existing frame or holder, measure the usable opening and confirm the required thickness too.
Think about how far away viewers will stand. A large board filled with small lettering can still be hard to read. Make the primary message easy to identify before adding supporting details.
3. Confirm the quantity and options
Review the number of finished signs, the material, and any thickness or finishing choices shown. If a product is ordered by the sheet, confirm how many finished pieces your selected size produces.
Decide whether you need printing on one side or both. For double-sided products, prepare and review the artwork for each side. Check which mounting options or accessories are offered and what your selection includes before making an installation plan.

4. Prepare the right artwork
Read the file instructions for the exact product. Match the artwork's size and proportions to the order, and use clear original images. Keep important content away from edges and any mounting holes as directed. Onyx online orders never require bleed or crop marks. PDF is recommended for the best print quality, and both RGB and CMYK are accepted without conversion. Use a transparent PNG if an acrylic sign needs clear areas.
Name files clearly so the current version is easy to recognize. Remove unused pages or old artwork from your upload selection. For multiple locations, check that each file has the right address, phone number, and directional information.
5. Review the preview carefully
At Onyx Print Group, the website preview is your proof. Completing checkout approves the artwork and layout for printing, so review it before paying.
Check spelling, dates, orientation, cropping, and image quality. Read phone numbers and web addresses one character at a time. If the design includes a QR code, test that it opens the correct destination. Ask another person to read the sign when possible.
6. Check delivery details and timing
Confirm the recipient name, street address, suite number, and postal code. Onyx requires a separate order for each shipping address. Review the current timing information for the selected product and leave room for your event setup. Production and delivery timing depend on receiving payment and print-ready artwork.
7. Keep the order information together
Save your confirmation, order number, and final artwork in one place. Check the signs when they arrive. If there is a printing problem or damage, use Onyx's Order Support page within seven days of delivery and include clear photos. Onyx reviews the issue and arranges a reprint or refund where appropriate.
